Google Now Allows Users to Mute Reminder Ads on Apps and Websites
"Today, we're launching the ability to silence reminder ads on apps and sites that partner with us to show ads," Jon Krafcik, product group manager, data privacy and transparency at Google, wrote in an entry on blog at the end of the week Thursday.
"Reminder ads can be useful, but if you're not buying the Boots from Snow Boot Co., then you do not need to reminder them. A new control within 'Ad Settings' will allow you to change the reminder ads of Snow Boot Co., "added Krafcik. Reminder ads can be silenced in apps and sites that partner with Google. The new tool applies only to the Google ad network, which includes more than two million sites and reaches more than 90% of people on the web, according to CNET.
The search engine giant also plans to expand this tool to control annoying ads on its other platforms, such as YouTube, Search, and Gmail in the coming months.
This new feature is part of the latest Chrome v64 Google browser released on Wednesday. Chrome 64 comes with more features, including a mute button for autoplay videos on web pages. Google has also released a security fix for recent merger and spectrum errors.
